Etiquette/Netiquette:Q I sent out invitations to a professional party I was throwing with my business partner and while I clearly indicated that an RSVP was essential by a specific date, very few people did so. I was afraid that maybe the date was a problem or perhaps there was just a lack of interest. However, when my assistant did a "check-up/last minute confirmation" almost everyone responded that they were, in fact coming. Why don't people RSVP anymore? Is it passé to ask people to RSVP or am I just expecting too much? A Having an RSVP request on a party invitation is certainly not passé nor is it expecting too much. Asking for an RSVP to a party is part of smart and successful party planning. Any good host/hostess needs and wants to know final numbers in order to ensure they provide their guests with their very best. got an etiquette question? |
