After the workday is done and the week is nearing the end, I begin to see the familiar email in my inbox with the subject: “Drinks at 6”. Depending on the sender, the email needs no further information. I know where we’ll meet and who will be there. We will spend the hours discussing the events of our week to date and the upcoming weekend plans.
Drinks at Six could be a spritzer, a crane & soda, a dirty vodka or a bold glass of cabernet. Regardless of its contents, it’s where we unwind and let our hair down to reflect on life.
For us single and independent girls, Drinks at Six is where and when we vent about our careers, share funny stories about our daily happenings and reveal our worst dating disasters. We offer each other pep talks when one of us is down, prep talks when one of us is leaving the flock that night or over the weekend for yet another adventure in dating, or support when we experience disappointment.
Drinks at Six can turn into one of those magical nights when the conversation seems to flow seamlessly or it can be just a springboard for the next stop, or, even better, our couch with a glass of wine and a great flick.
Whatever happens, Drinks at Six is when and where we share everything and discuss all of the things that really matter.
Jacq has a combined background in advertising, public relations and writing with a strong interest in career, lifestyle and travel stories. As a 20-year veteran on the single scene, Jacq has experienced all the peaks and pitfalls of this ever expanding terrain. Drinks at Six is the result of a Northern Ontario chicks cottage week and was developed on a dock with chardonnay and a group of great, single girlfriends. This site is a great opportunity to share these experiences and to open up dialogue about the truths and opportunities that relate to being single.
